Bees and Farm Updates

Hi.  I’ve been lame and haven’t posted since April.  But I’ve been busy trying to learn how to film stupid YouTube videos that might actually someday be interesting.  For now, my videos are just lame though.  I’ve only been practicing the basics of making videos.  Not to mention, I’m camera-shy so I’m not sure how far this YouTube thing will ever go.  But you can click HERE if you’d like to view my fist few lame-o “practice” videos and cheer me on…

The Bees….

The bees managed to give us around 60 pounds of honey this year from four hives.  We also caught two swarms of wild bees during the summer, which brought the “bee yard” up to six hives total.  A manageable number, but it kept us way too busy with bees this summer.

I got stung more times than I could keep tack of this year.  Most of that came from catching the first swarm.  They were not at all happy to be caught.  Bees are so much fun…

The Garden…

I’ve put the garden to bed now, with the exception of planning to plant Garlic at the end of October.  I pulled the remainder of the Roma tomatoes last week before the first frost.  I still have quite a bit of them to finish canning.  Other than that, it’s all over until next season.

The New Project…

Work began on a new project that I’m pretty excited about.  Here’s a little teaser photo…

Horse Arena

Eventually, I’ll post more photos and tell you what my plan / goal is for this project.  In the meantime, I hope you are enjoying these last days of beautiful weather as much as I am.  The cold, dark ones are creeping in.  ~A
