I took a little break from the blog for the holidays.  I’m not a fan of Christmas.  Too much pressure with all the cooking, hosting, entertaining and present buying.  And aside from seeing family, I pretty much hate it.

Grilling outdoors in December seemed strange…

Cooking, entertaining and eating. This has been my last two weeks.  Filled with stress, anxiety and too much food and drink.

Fresh salad. I’m dreaming of the summer garden already.

Then yesterday, with all the heavy rain, the basement in my rental property flooded. Fortunately it was only an outlet issue, so the sump pump was plugged in elsewhere for the time being. Problem solved for now…

I have one more work day this week, and then will not return to work until January 4th.  This will be my time to put away Christmas (gratefully), tidy the home office, make goals and plans for the New Year, and get my brain back into some kind of good order.  You’ve all had that feeling at some time or another, right?

My guilty pleasures for the rest of this week will be drooling through the 2016 seed catalogs, making wine, and dreaming up which chicken breeds (*hint*) to add to the farm this year. Oh! And avoiding people at all costs.  What’s yours? ~A
