Good News. Bad News.

Today, I’m going to give you some bad news and good news. Not necessarily in that order. Are you ready?

Barn in the fog

First, I just wanted to you to know there are only 18 days left of summer (or three whole weekends). Can you believe that? Only a mere eighteen of them!  So what are you going to do with the last eighteen days of Summer? Well you better enjoy them.  They’re saying Winter will be a harsh one this year. (More bad news)

Sunflowers

Personally, I think ANY winter is harsh.  It would be August, September and October ALL year around if I had my way. August for six months, followed by 4 months of September and 2 months of October. Sounds perfect –  right?

The good news?  There also are only 18 days until my favorite season of the year.  FALL ! ! ! !  I love Fall! No more leg-shaving or pedicures!  Right? Isn’t that what everyone does? Just me?

Beehive in the fog

Anyway… Fall!  Warm, crackling fires, crisp air in the mornings, colorful leaves rustling in the wind, chopping firewood, football, hearty soups, bug-free trail rides on the horses, pumpkin spice, mulled wine, Oktoberfest!!! Halloween!!! Thanksgiving!!!

Fall leaves

Oh wait, a little more bad news.  All the photos in this post are how nearly every morning this August began – with heavy, damp fog.

Barn on a farm

Do you know what that means?  According to the Farmer’s Almanac, this is one of the signs of a bad winter with a lot of snow lying ahead of us.  Enjoy the last of Summer! ~A

P.S.  I do not get excited over “Pumpkin Spice” anything.  I think it’s entirely overrated – like the Kardashians.  And Football?  I’ll pass. (no pun intended).
